Toot Toot! Taking part in the East Coast Run.

It was with some trepidation that we arrived on Sunday 9th June in Hull to take part in the 45th annual vintage car run to Bridlington.  Upmost in our minds was whether our 1954 Ford Popular would actually get there and back.

This vintage vehicle meet was originally just for commercial vehicles and limited to buses but since 1979 cars have been allowed to take part in the fun.  The only stipulation is that your vehicle is 15 years or older.  Penelope the Popular was therefore VERY eligible to take part.

I was rather fascinated with the metal work.  A different scale from the pieces that I work with on my bench but equally beautiful.

I am glad to report that Penelope made it there, and all the way back without any problem what so ever!  She was the only Ford Popular on the run with her own original engine so we are justifiably very proud of her.  Well done Penelope! Toot toot!

  1. What fun!!! I did NOT know that Penelope was SO popular. But I'm not surprised. She's a beaut.
