The Beautiful Blogosphere

Isn't it just the most amazing thing?  Isn't it so strange to think that we will be able to tell our grandchildren / great nephews and nieces that we were born BEFORE the internet.  They will look at us, with their mouths open and wonder how old we really are and if it is indeed true.  Was there really a time before the internet? We will say to them (as their eyes goggle and their mouths gasp) 'In the olden days, before the internet....'

In the meantime - here are a few snippets from the beautiful blogosphere that illuminate my little laptop screen on a regular basis.  I thought I would share them as perhaps you might adore them too.

1.  First up, the Bodie and Fou blog that accompanies their beautiful on-line boutique / concept store, which was set up in 2005 by two sisters, Karine and Elodie.

I love this blog because it is a visual feast of beautiful products and comfortable, laid-back interiors that just don't try too hard and little funny conversations between Karine and her 6 year old daughter Mila.

I also love this blog because I can test my French!  Karine will often write her posts in English and French.  If I manage to learn a few new words and understand the French I feel more than justified in pushing my verb books and language podcasts to one side for the rest of the day.

2.  Another blog that lets me push my verb books right onto the edge of my desk so that they just teeter on the edge before crashing to the floor (of course I pick them up straight away and begin right where I left off the previous day, ahem...) is Hello Neëst.  It accompanies the collection found in the Neëst Shop.

All the products have at their core a pared down, essential aesthetic.  The palette is restrained, simple and natural.

The blog reflects these principles perfectly.  It is a restful place of a simple life lived.  A quote from the Arts and Crafts designer William Morris comes to mind,

"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."

3.  And finally for today is Sania Pell's blog.  Sania is an interiors sylist, designer AND author.  To put it simply, everything she touches becomes even more beautiful!  How fabulous is that?

I have to say, I really think the world is a better place with the blogosphere orbiting within and around it. Wouldn't you agree?  Feel free to add any links of any blogosphere places you have been recently roaming in.

  1. well, you already know i totally agree with you about sania. she really is something.

thanks for the new intros. oh my, the pic on the neest store site home page. that cake!

and i can see that b & f would give you a laugh with those conversations. i'm always saying you really should write down what kids say.....'no, he's just delicious'. too much.

  2. ps- i read pioneerwoman everyday in my inbox for the same reason, she cracks me up. so do her basset hounds. love reading about their ranching life and she is more than willing to be self depricating and share her daily catastrophes. very entertaining.

  3. PSS......(sorry for THREE back to back to backs-if only i could remember all i wanted to say) yes, i agree with you about the internet and the blogsphere....i've met so many lovely people all over the world who i wouldn't have known otherwise. including you.

  4. Pam - will check out that pioneering woman - I love blog recommendations! And indeed - however on earth would we have 'met' if it had not have been for the super amazing fantastic and lovely blogosphere?!

  5. Bodie and fou are top girls ;) Just prepared a post about Sania as well.. we like the same things ;)

  6. Happy birthday Cari. Is ours on the same day or a day apart? Do I know this already. Anyhoo, have a lovely day. :)

  7. Vosges Paris - ahh, Sania, she must the woman of the moment - although her talent will ensure that she lasts longer than just this sudden burst in interest.
