A Fabulous Friday Feeling

A small matter of some 'red tape' and the promise of coffee (and possibly a croissant) had me happily heading inland this afternoon.

Come, lets go for a little walk!

Gendarmerie Nationale, Moutiers Les Mauxfaits, France, Cari-Jane Hakes, September 2011
As you move away from the coast the architecture seems to increase its volume somewhat.  This solid block of gently articulated render and stone stands sentinel like on the edge of the village's centre.  It has a simple gravitas and a muted palette of ordered efficiency.

Neat Little Town House, Moutiers Les Mauxfaits, France, Cari-Jane Hakes, September 2011
This house caught my eye.  It was so pristine and proudly neat.  The garden was full of birds. It sounded as if there were a hidden aviary tucked away somewhere!

Beauty for the Sake of it, Cari-Jane Hakes, September 2011
Red tape fully stuck and dealt with it was time to return to the edge of the land, where the buildings hunker down and scatter in the hope that the coastal winds will rush over them, unnoticed.

Market, Moutiers Les Mauxfaits, Cari-Jane Hakes, September 2011
Au revoir Moutiers.  Perhaps I'll come back on market day and visit this space again when it is full of fish and melons!

  1. Muffin! I hope you wore your nugget...it does look like a good market space, sort of looks fashioned from those French Fry crisps Hx
